QX5 Computer Microscope Drivers for Windows Vista 64-Bit Operating System

The Version 2 QX5 Computer Microscope will now install on Windows Vista 64-bit.  You will need to manually download and update the driver by following the steps below.

NOTE:  Please disconnect the microscope while performing the below steps.

1. Click here to download the driver
2. If you receive a message asking for a username/password, please click on the Anonymous checkbox.
3. Save the attachment (vista_x64.zip) to your Desktop by selecting 'Desktop' on the left hand side of the window that comes up.
4. Go to your Desktop and right-click on the 'vista_x64.zip' folder and select 'Extract All'.
5. When the Extract Compressed Folders window appears, the 'Destination' should show 'C:\Users\...\Desktop\vista_x64', if not, click on the 'Browse' button and select your 'Desktop'.
6. Next, click on the 'Extract' button.  When the extraction is finished it will bring up a window showing you the contents of the folder.
7. Double-click on the 'DPInst.exe' to start the driver installation.
8. Once the install has finished, plug in your microscope to a USB port on your computer.
9. Windows Vista will automatically install the drivers for a 'Digital Blue QX5 V2 Microscope'.
10. To confirm this, click on your Windows Start button > Control Panel > System & Maintenance > Device Manager.
11. In the Device Manager you will see a category called 'Imaging Devices', click on the triangle next to Imaging Devices to expand the category and you will see 'Digital Blue QX5 V2 Microscope' listed.
